Giada De Laurentiis, star of Food Network show ‘Everyday Italian’, is pregnant. She is expecting her first baby with clothing designer husband Todd Thompson, whom she met in 1991, and wed in 2003. The cooking star with the big smile announced her blessing on the Nov. 5 episode of the ‘Today’ show. She says she is expecting a baby girl!

De Laurentiis, 37, is a regular contributor on NBC’s “Today” show where she shows that there is more to Italian cuisine than just pizza and pasta. De Laurentiis, 37, is also the granddaughter of legendary film producer Dino De Laurentiis and Italian film star Silvana Mangano. Her mom is actress Veronica De Laurentiis, and her dad is actor-producer Alex De Benedetti.
She says the pregancy was a complete surprise, admitting “When I found out I was pregnant I was in complete shock. I truly didn’t believe it. I honestly thought, ‘there has got to be a mistake.” Giada also hosts Food Network shows Behind the Bash, Giada’s Weekend Getaways, and Giada in Paradise. She’s also a frequent contributor on NBC’s Today show.
The Post Chronicle notes that with the baby due in April, fans may wonder if she can keep up the grueling schedule, but there is no word yet as to the status of Giada’s many projects.
