Edison Chen & Gillian Chung Nude Photos Scandal Rocks Asia

February 8, 2008 By Mary Browning

It’s not only in America.  Hong Kong gossip mills are churning in Asia over stars Edison Chen and Gillian Chung as a scandal has erupted around the pair. The media frenzy began in late January and has continued at a frenzied pace when revealing personal pictures of Chung, a member of the squeaky clean Cantopop duo Twins, and her former boyfriend, singer-actor Chen, and others purported to be of actress Cecilia Cheung were posted on the Internet.

Gillian Chung’s company, Emperor Entertainment Group, initially said the photographs of the normally squeaky-clean star were a digital fake, recent media reports have suggested otherwise.

According to the Asia Times Online, Chen, after maintaining silence for a week and reportedly flying to Canada, released an English language video apology via his lawyer and the Hong Kong police. Meanwhile, reporters for The Sun, a Hong Kong newspaper, went to Boston, USA, to track down Edison’s current girlfriend Vincy Yeung.  She said that she stands by Edison but refused to comment further.

The report claims that Chen took his computer in for work and a technician discovered the images.  He was going to just download them and keep them for private use but instead he decided to show some friends and they talked him into posing the pictures online.
