Jim Nantz and Ex-Wife (Photos) Divorce Dollars, Sportscaster Will Pay $916K Per Year

November 5, 2009 By Leslie Warren

Jim Nantz now has an ex-wife, but it is going to cost him a good chunk of the money he gets for announcing some of the world’s premiere sporting events.  The broadcaster has picked up a new 29-year old girlfriend, and lost a wife.  A judge has decided Nance will make it on $916,000 less per year as that money is going to Ann-Lorraine “Lorrie” Carlsen Nantz, his ex.

Judge Howard Owens called Nance “our nation’s most prominent sportscaster,” and said that even though he “started dating a 29-year-old woman before the divorce was final, the marriage deteriorated years earlier and “this remote event in no way contributed to the breakdown of the marriage.”

“In fairness, for most of the years he prioritized his family obligation and put his wife and daughter Caroline first. As frequently happens in marriages of lengthy duration, the parties do not have the same interest and ardor for their spouses’ endeavors,” the judge wrote in his decision. The wife’s attorney said she was happy with the settlement that gave her the house, another condo, that huge near million dollar per year settlement and some child support and college tuition money for their teen daughter.
