Meghan McCain (pictured) has ripped the new immigration law in Arizona, a law that now appears to divide daughter and dad. In a column published at The Daily Beast, Meghan McCain reveals she believes the new law is “seriously flawed” and “essentially a license to pull someone over for being Hispanic,” reports CBS News.

She adds that the GOP also gave Hispanics another reason to never vote for Republicans, especially in Arizona.
“I believe it gives the state police a license to discriminate, and also, in many ways, violates the civil rights of Arizona residents,” Meghan McCain wrote in her column, entitled “Hate the Law, Not Arizonans.”
She adds: “Simply put, I think it is a bad law that is missing the bigger picture of what is really going on with illegal immigration.”
Her dad, US Senator John McCain (R-AZ) is on the opposite end and says “this law is a response to the president’s and the administration’s failure to secure our borders. The federal government has a responsibility to secure the borders, they have not.”
Meghan McCain counters, “Arizona is being shown in a negative light in the media, and once again Hispanic voters in Arizona have yet another reason to distrust the Republican Party.”
CBS reports the new law “compels police officers to question a person about his or her immigration status if there is “reasonable suspicion” that person may be in the country illegally.”
