Roseanne Barr: “Viewers Now Prefer Their Comedy Dumb and Sexist”

May 18, 2011 By Cyndi James

Roseanne Barr is unhappy with the sexism in TV comedy and unloads on Charlie Sheen and the sitcom 'Two and a Half Men' in a NY Mag column penned by the comedienne.

In a blistering offering she says (among other things) of those that watch TV sitcoms, "Viewers now prefer their comedy dumb and sexist."

At the start of the four-page column Barr begins:

"During the recent and overly publicized breakdown of Charlie Sheen, I was repeatedly contacted by the media and asked to comment, as it was assumed that I know a thing or two about starring on a sitcom, fighting with producers, nasty divorces, public meltdowns, and bombing through a live comedytour."

She is certainly willing to share what she knows and unloads here.

Is she right about Hollywood?
