Sasha Grey Elementary School Visit – Porn Star Reads to 1st Graders, Parents Upset

November 12, 2011 By Iain Burchell

Porn Star Sasha Grey (pictured) reportedly sparked outcry among parents by reading to 1st graders at an LA school.

Sasha, who has not done porn in two years, read books to five and six-year-olds at Emerson Elementary School in Compton for the Read Across America program on November 2, TMZ.com reports.

Some angry parents are said to have complained to the PTA about their children being around Sasha, who is now a "mainstream" actress with credits including Entourage.

A spokesman for the school district reportedly told TMZ Sasha was never inside one of its classrooms, but TMZ obtained photos of her reading to children.

Sasha – who once won a Best Oral Sex award for her role in Throat: A Cautionary Tale – issued a statement saying: "I committed to this program with the understanding that people would have their own opinions about what I have done, who I am and what I represent.

"I am an actor. I am an artist. I am a daughter. I am a sister. I am a partner. I have a past that some people may not agree with, but it does not define who I am.

"I believe in the future of our children, and I will remain an active supporter and participant in education-focused initiatives."
