Adam Lanza, the 20-year old who is alleged to have murdered 27 people (including 20 children) did not have a Facebook account and was painfully shy and awkward, a friend revealed to the UK Daily Mail a day after the shooting.
He left few footprints at all in life, reports the NY Times.
Lanza did not even appear in his high school yearbook (class of 2010) and his spot on the page said, "Camera shy."
The report adds that he attended Sandy Hook Elementary and then Newtown High School and he was a regular on the honor roll.
Nancy Lanza…
Lanza's mother Nancy, 52, was the first victim of his Friday shooting spree.
Nancy was said to be a loving, giving mom, and she was also reportedly a survivalist of sorts, (a Doomsday Prepper) and that was one of the reasons she kept so many weapons at her $1.6 million home where her she lived with her son.
An aunt, Marsha Lanza, told ABC News that Nancy had home-schooled Adam after pulling him out of the Newtown public school system.
"She mentioned she wound up home-schooling him because she battled with the school district," said Marsha, according to the report.
Odd behavior by Adam…
The 20-year old alleged mass murderer reportedly had behavioral issues and reportedly had been diagnosed with Aspergers syndrome.
The NY Times notes the young man left very few footprints and describes him and his odd behavior.
"Pale, tall and scrawny, Adam Lanza walked through high school in Newtown, Conn., with his hands glued to his sides, the pens in the pocket of his short-sleeve, button-down shirts among the few things that his classmates recalled about him."
The Times has more here and notes law enforcement officials said Friday that they were closely examining whether Mr. Lanza Aspergers syndrome or any other mental disorder.
