A Miss America bikini scandal for 2013 features a lot of flesh being flashed by this year's winner.
Blonde beauty Mallory Hytes Hagan has some critics saying she is too heavy to be in a bikini now, citing recent photos of her and a friend on a Hawaiian beach.
The sexy winner of the 2013 Miss America contest is pictured above as she strutted her stuff in a tiny black bikini this year at the competition in January.
She looks great – but recent pictures snapped while she was on the beach with her pal, Miss Hawaii Skyler Kamaka, showed that she was not as fit and has put on some weight.
The fat jokes started immediately and the comments were cruel.
The beauty queen went to "Anderson Live" to answer to the insults.
"I think that I'm human," says Hagan. "I like to equate getting ready for the Miss America pageant as kind of like getting ready for a little boxing match. We get in shape and then afterwards, life goes back to normal."
Hagan added that she hasn't had enough time to work out since she won the title of Miss America.
"I think a lot of people don't realize how much Miss America travels. I travel on average 20,000 miles a month so every 48 hours I am in a different place just about. So it's really a challenge to maintain that same body that I went to Miss America with."
"It's all about being healthy, we're all about living a healthy lifestyle. Some days you want to eat potatoes and some days you don't," Hagan continued.
"I struggle with it, just as every other young woman does as well. I think it's something we all strive to be better at but I am real."
