Peyton Manning’s Wife Ashley Thompson Helps Motivate Denver Broncos QB

January 19, 2014 By Staff

Peyton Manning's wife is Ashley Thompson and the beautiful brunette will always have fans in Denver as she helped motivate the Broncos star quarterback to give football one more try after his neck surgery.

In an earlier interview with Sports Illustrated, Manning credited Ashley for her role in keeping him focused on the possibility of continuing his career after the surgery and once the Indianapolis Colts deemed him expendable.

Manning may never have even considered his move to the Rocky Mountains had his wife not pushed him to be his best.

"Ashley [his wife] and I actually had those conversations. More than one. Because, you know, you don't want to embarrass yourself. Because, they're signing you and people are thinking they're getting the player they had always seen before," Peyton said.

"And so, Ashley was the one that was saying, 'Peyton, you've got to try. You've got to try.' With this injury, nothing was happening. Nothing. For weeks. There was no progress. It was so frustrating. And really, I had a peace about it. I had a peace. Because, I had this unbelievable string of health for 20 years — since I was 15 years old as a sophomore in high school."

Tom Brady's wife Gisele was pictured in a bikini this week and there was some controversy – Watch the video for details here.

Last years AFC playoffs were a huge disappointment for the Denver Broncos.

They were defeated at home by the Baltimore Ravens, despite being a huge favorite.

This season, the Broncos won their first game at home against the San Diego Chargers and they now have advanced to the AFC championship game.

Manning will be featured against arch rival Tom Brady, the quarterback for the New England Patriots as the teams battle for the right to play in the Super Bowl.

The Broncos are again favored – but one note – Manning has a horrible record against the New England Patriots overall in his career, a paltry 7–14 (and only 4-10 with Brady as NE's QB)

Will it be Brady or Manning smiling after the game today?

Who are you cheering for today's AFC championship game, the Denver Broncos or the New England Patriots?
