The Kansas City Chiefs RB situation (Spencer Ware, Jamaal Charles) remains murky on Wednesday for their fantasy football scoring outlook this week.
The KC Chiefs play the New York Jets at home on Sunday afternoon at 3:25 pm CDT.
At the latest Chiefs practice on Wednesday (9/21/2016), Ware worked as the starting RB and Charles was working with the scout team.
However, head coach Andy Reid said Charles will work with the starters this week during practice, but did not reveal if Charles would be active on Sunday.
Charles is recovering from a torn ACL that happened during week five of last season and has yet to play this season as he waits for the knee to fully heal up from his surgery.
Spencer Ware had a stellar week one for fantasy football team owners, but his production fell off during week 2 in the receiving department as the Chiefs offense struggled against the Houston Texans defense on the road.
But Ware could shine this week.
If Ware plays and Charles is declared inactive, Ware should be considered a RB2.
The NY Jets have a lot of offensive weapons with QB Ryan Fitzpatrick having RB Matt Forte, WR Brandon Marshall (check injury status) and WR Eric Decker at his disposal, so the Chiefs will likely have to score a decent amount of points to win the game.
The Vegas oddsmakers have the Chiefs as a 3 1/2 point favorite and the over/under for the game is 42.
That should mean decent scoring from the Chiefs starting RB, however it is still unclear how Kansas City's head coach will use Charles and Ware once Charles returns to the line up, so keep an eye on the Chiefs injury report as the week progresses if you plan on starting Spencer Ware.
