Miami Dolphins starting QB Ryan Tannehill and Cincinnati Bengals starting QB Andy Dalton face off tonight on Thursday Night Football, are either of the two quarterbacks worth a start in fantasy football play this week?
Ryan Tannehill is owned by 44% of Yahoo Fantasy Football players and 33.9% in ESPN, but has scored very well this season of late.
Tannehill has back-to-back 300 yard games, however he has back-to-back games with two interceptions as well and his RB situation is suspect at best, the team has said it will use a format of running back-by-comittee (RBBC) with four backs tonight.
That might cause protection issues for Tannehill and it might be difficult to establish any ground game.
Right now, Tannehill is the leading rusher for the Miami Dolphins.
Tannehill could see decent pass attempts if the Dolphins get behind, but unless the fill in situation is very thin in your league, Tannehill is better off as a non-starter in fantasy football on the road this week.
Andy Dalton is a little more intriguing for Aaron Rodgers owners looking for a fill in for this week.
Dalton is owned by a lot of Yahoo fantasy football team owners (82%), but is only owned by 66% of ESPN owners, so he might be available for pick up even today.
If he's on your bench or on your free agent wire in your league, Dalton is at home and the Bengals are mostly healthy (TE Tyler Eifert is still out) and the team is off a home loss to the Denver Broncos last week, looking to right the ship.
Expect the Bengals offense to try to pile up the points on Thursday Night and that should translate into fantasy points for team owners who elect to start Dalton.
The 'Red Rifle' is a viable option for a good start tonight at home against the Dolphins.
