Texas Voting Machine Switches Republican Vote to Hillary Clinton? Early Voting Problems

October 25, 2016 By Staff

Are Texas voting machines switching a straight Republican Party ticket vote to a vote for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 US presidential election?

Several social media reports from early US voters in the Lone Star State have claimed they have had issues with trying to vote straight Republican Party ticket with a variety of unintended results.

Some have said that the voting machine switched their straight Republican Party ticket vote to a straight Democratic Party vote after they cast their vote at the ballot box.

According to Click2Houston.Com, another social media post from Jim Barker makes a similar claim, however it sounds as if this claim is only that only the vote for US President was incorrect, and it remained unchecked.

The post says that all of the GOP politicians Barker wished to vote for were checked off, with the exception of one – his presidential vote, for GOP nominee Donald Trump.

Check out the full story here, and remember, check your ballots before turning them in to make certain your vote is cast correctly.

The post from Barker:

“VOTERS BEWARE: I voted a straight party ticket this morning. Before pressing the cast ballot button, I scanned to make sure all I had voted for appeared in the final list. All did EXCEPT my choice for President. I called the helper and she was puzzled. The judge came and she was also puzzled. I had to go back to page 1, indicate straight party ticket and then scroll down to my Presidential candidate and click on that name. After that, the final ballot appeared as I wanted and then I cast my ballot.
My advice: Double check your ballot before you press the final cast ballot button.

Election officials are available at all polling places, they advise that you contact them if there is any issue with your ballot.
